Like every travel addict, you probably have a list of countries you dream of visiting. But some of the most rewarding destinations may not even be on your radar yet. Hidden among these underrated places are extraordinary experiences and landscapes waiting to be discovered. Here, we will hike Acatenango Volcano at 3,976 metres. It is a challenging but spectacular climb that will literally take us above the clouds. And if we are lucky, we will witness an unforgettable sight: the active Fuego Volcano erupting and sending glowing lava into the night sky. Our journey continues to Colombia, one of South America's most fascinating destinations. Despite its reputation, Colombia remains remarkably authentic, away from the mass tourism found in many other countries. There are countless places worth discovering, welcoming locals eager to share their culture and activities that will take your adventure to another level. Our final stop is Panama, a tropical paradise between two oceans, combining lush jungle, beautiful beaches and modern city vibes. Famous for the Panama Canal connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and its impressive skyline, Panama is also home to the spectacular San Blas Islands. With their turquoise waters and picture-perfect tropical scenery, the San Blas Islands are the perfect finale to this unforgettable adventure!

- 1Day 1
16 January - Departure for Guatemala
The wait is finally over and our adventure begins. Early in the morning, we meet at Athens Airport, grab the essential coffee and get to know our fellow travellers. We fly first to Madrid before boarding our transatlantic flight, with plenty of time to relax, watch some movies and get ready for everything awaiting us in Central America.

17 January - Arrival in Guatemala City - Departure for Antigua
After arriving in Guatemala City, we board our bus and travel directly to beautiful Antigua, conveniently located closer to the places we want to explore, including Acatenango Volcano. Surrounded by volcanoes, Antigua captivates visitors with its colourful buildings, charming cafés, traditionally dressed locals and welcoming atmosphere. It is the perfect introduction to Guatemala.

18 January - Antigua Tour - Coffee Plantation by ATV
Today we explore Antigua's hidden corners, walk beneath the famous Santa Catalina Arch and wander through colourful local markets. The volcanic soil and climate also make this one of the perfect places to enjoy exceptional coffee. You can optionally join an ATV adventure to a local coffee plantation, where we learn about the entire production process and taste freshly roasted varieties. Those joining tomorrow's volcano hike will attend an afternoon briefing covering the route, equipment and everything needed for the adventure.

19 January - Acatenango Hike - Fuego Volcano - Overnight at Acatenango
One of the most demanding yet rewarding days of our journey begins early. After meeting our guides and preparing our equipment, we start the challenging Acatenango Overnight Hike. The trek takes approximately 5 to 6 hours to reach our campsite at around 3,400 metres. You can relax at camp or optionally continue towards Fuego Volcano for an additional 40 USD, a demanding hike of approximately three hours. Weather permitting, the views of the active volcano are unforgettable. In the evening, we gather around the fire for food, wine and an extraordinary night above the clouds.

20 January - Descent from Acatenango - Free Time in Antigua
If you still have the energy, you can take an early 1 to 2-hour hike to enjoy the sunrise and spectacular mountain views. After breakfast, we descend and return to Antigua, where the rest of the day is free for some well-earned relaxation. In the late afternoon, we leave Antigua and travel to Guatemala City, where we spend the night before our morning flight.

21 January - Departure for Medellin
Our first day in Medellin immerses us in the city's culture and history, beginning at the iconic Plaza Botero and its famous bronze sculptures by Fernando Botero. We then take the Metrocable for panoramic views over Medellin as we travel towards Parque Arví, a vast natural area above the city. We finish at Pueblito Paisa on Cerro Nutibara, a recreation of a traditional regional village that offers another glimpse into local culture and architecture.

22 January - Comuna 13
Once considered one of the most dangerous areas of Medellin, Comuna 13 has undergone a remarkable transformation and has become a symbol of creativity and urban regeneration. With our local guide, we learn about its turbulent history, including the years of cartel violence, armed groups and conflict. Today, colourful murals cover walls once marked by bullets, musicians perform in the streets and local vendors bring the neighbourhood to life. We explore its famous street art and discover the stories behind one of Medellin's most fascinating communities.

23 January - El Peñón de Guatapé
After breakfast, we travel to one of the most beautiful areas near Medellin. El Peñón de Guatapé is a massive granite monolith rising approximately 200 metres above the surrounding landscape. Those ready for the challenge can climb the 659 steps to the top, where spectacular views stretch across the lake and lush green mountains. Afterwards, we have time to wander through the colourful streets of Guatapé.

24 January - Departure for Cartagena
After breakfast, we depart for Cartagena, the jewel of Colombia's Caribbean coast and one of the best-preserved colonial cities in the Americas. We explore its historic walled city, where colourful colonial architecture, bougainvillea-covered balconies, winding streets, elegant plazas and impressive churches create an unforgettable atmosphere. In the evening, we head out to experience Cartagena's vibrant nightlife.

25 January - Free Day in Cartagena - Salsa Workshop
Today is dedicated to discovering more of Cartagena. Atmospheric cafés, colourful streets and friendly locals provide the perfect setting for exploring the city's highlights before enjoying some free time. You can also optionally join a salsa workshop and discover one of Colombia's most iconic rhythms. However you choose to spend the day, Cartagena will keep you entertained.

26 January - Flight to Panama
Early in the morning, we head to the airport for our flight to Panama. We arrive in Panama City later in the day and transfer directly to our hotel for some well-deserved rest. Recharge your batteries because another series of exciting experiences begins tomorrow.

27 January - San Blas Islands
Those joining today's optional excursion should prepare for a very early start, which means breakfast is not included. The San Blas archipelago consists of hundreds of small islands scattered along Panama's Caribbean coast, offering white-sand beaches, turquoise waters and swaying coconut palms. The drive to the port takes approximately 2.5 hours each way, followed by an unforgettable island-hopping experience. Weather permitting, there will be opportunities for snorkeling, swimming and plenty of photos, with lunch served on one of the islands. Those who do not join the excursion will have a free day in Panama City.

28 January - Panama Canal - Free Day
Today we visit Panama's most famous landmark, the Panama Canal. Completed in 1914, this extraordinary feat of engineering connects the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans across the narrow Isthmus of Panama. After discovering the canal and its history, the rest of the day is free to explore Panama City, enjoy cocktails, shop for souvenirs or perhaps pick up a famous Panama hat.

29 January - Return to Greece
After days filled with adventures, extraordinary landscapes and unforgettable experiences across Guatemala, Colombia and Panama, it is time to return home. We leave with memories of colourful cities, volcanoes, tropical islands and fascinating cultures, as well as the new friendships made along the way. These three countries may have exceeded your expectations, but the world is full of surprises and the next Dream Trip is waiting.
